Sustainable operations

Euro-BioImaging Finland supports green transition and resource-wise economy and actively develops its activities to reduce its carbon footprint. Each partner applies its host organisation’s sustainable development strategy. The hosts are committed to act responsibly towards society and environment, to seek solutions for sustainable use of resources of the planet, and to make ecologically responsible choices.

The green transition and sustainable operations are pivotal in Euro-BioImaging Finland´s development. Key initiatives include:

• Transitioning to liquid helium-free MRI technology (2025-2029 development project at FiBI)
• Promoting remote access and digital solutions to reduce travel and enhance research efficiency (2024-2026 FIRI project 3D-BioImage at FiAM)
• Upgrading existing imaging systems instead of buying new ones to extend service life, reduce costs, and conserve resources.
