The Finnish Advanced Microscopy Node (FiAM) of Euro-BioImaging practices open-access policy which in practice means that any academic or industrial user is able to use services of the FiAM. The services of the FiAM are open to local, national, and international users. The prices and reservation procedures are readily available on web pages of respective imaging core facilities.

ABOUT US

The Finnish Advanced Microscopy Node (FiAM) is part of the Euro-BioImaging Finland, a national roadmap infrastructure and a national lighthouse. The FiAM is funded by the Research Council of Finland, FIRI 2023 and FIRI 2024, decision numbers: 358881 and 367578 (University of Helsinki), 359073 and 367582 (University of Turku), 358879 and 367577 (Åbo Akademi University), 358959  and 367585 (University of Oulu), 367579 (University of Eastern Finland), 367580 (Tampere University).

    CanSERV 4th open call to support cancer research – apply for FREE imaging and analysis services!

    We are happy to announce that the fourth EU-funded canSERV call is open and is now accepting applications to support cancer research projects. The researchers can apply for FREE SERVICES at several European Research Infrastructures, including Euro-BioImaging ERIC. Deadline for proposal submission is July 15, 2025, 14:00 CEST. Within this canSERV call, our Finnish Advanced Microscopy Node (FiAM) is providing open-access imaging technologies and expert services to both academic and industrial users: Some important highlights: Submission workflow: 1.     Euro-BioImaging Finland Kick-off Meeting Marks a Milestone for Finnish Imaging Infrastructure

    The kick-off meeting of the renewed Euro-BioImaging Finland was held on 4th April at the University of Helsinki. (Image: Euro-BioImaging Finland) On April 4th, 2025, Euro-BioImaging Finland held its official Kick-off Meeting at Biomedicum, Helsinki, celebrating the newly awarded 28 million euros in national infrastructure funding and the prestigious “Lighthouse” status on the Finnish Research Infrastructure Roadmap 2025–2028. Euro-BioImaging Finland was chosen as one of six Finland’s highest quality infrastructures, so-called lighthouses – forerunners with broad societal impact. With this record funding granted by the Research Council of Finland, Euro-BioImaging Finland will develop new imaging technologies and services, and new methods based on artificial intelligence.     BioImage Informactics Finland Network Symposium 2025

    4th BioImage Informatics Finland symposium is organized by Turku Bioimaging at Seili island, Turku Archipelago, May 22-23, 2025 . The symposium will bring together students, researchers, and facility personnel working on image analysis or data management to discuss the latest developments and prospects in the bioimage informatics field.     Turku Bioimaging (TBI) is looking for an Image Data Analyst to support cross-disciplinary projects in TBI image data team.     Special workshop: fast FLIM and its revolutionary applications

    Cell Imaging and Cytometry (CIC) Core together with Immuno Diagnostic Oy is organizing a Special workshop: Fast FLIM and its revolutionary applications, which take place in BioCity on November 5th-6th, Turku, Finland. This workshop is aimed at broadly covering various new advanced applications of Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (FLIM) that are possible to perform on our new Leica Stellaris 8 confocal microscope at the CIC. This workshop will consist of a series of lectures and a few microscope demos on the Leica Stellaris 8 in the afternoon of Tuesday November 5th.
