Project Funding

Euro-BioImaging has been awarded a number of important Horizon Europe and other grants to provide funding for User Access at Euro-BioImaging Nodes. The researchers had an opportunity to apply for FREE SERVICES provided by the Finnish Advanced Microscopy (FiAM) Node in Helsinki, Turku, and Oulu. See below the information about some previous funding for user access. More calls are expected to be open in the future, stay tuned!

Imaging 4 ALL - supporting researchers from low and -middle income countries

Imaging 4 All (i4A) funding programme aimed at providing researchers and imaging facility staff and management from low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) with access to biological and biomedical imaging services, as well as imaging-related training opportunities across all continents.

Within this i4A call, FiAM offers open-access imaging technologies and expert services:

  • Multimodal Advanced Light Microscopy
  • Super-Resolution Microscopy
  • Electron Microscopy and CLEM
  • Mesoscopic Imaging
  • High Throughput Microscopy/High Content Screening
  • Image Analysis

Any researcher or imaging facility staff located in a low- and middle-income country (LMIC) is eligible to apply.

3rd and final i4A call for applications – December 15th 2025 to February 28th 2026.

canserv - supporting cancer research

The canSERV Consortium supports cancer research projects. The researchers can apply for FREE SERVICES at 28 Euro-BioImaging Nodes including Finnish Advanced Microscopy Node (FiAM). Within this canSERV call, FiAM offers open-access imaging technologies and expert services to academic and SME users:

  • Multimodal Advanced Light Microscopy
  • Super-Resolution Microscopy
  • Electron Microscopy and CLEM
  • Mesoscopic Imaging
  • High Throughput Microscopy/High Content Screening
  • Image Analysis

All external users even those from Finland are eligible to apply for FiAM services via the canSERV call.

All projects will be reviewed and evaluated as soon as they are submitted, and user projects must be completed before May 2026.

Start your application by contacting the staff of the FiAM Node via contact-FiALM@eurobioimaging.fi to discuss a potential project, and inquire about imaging technologies, services, and the practicalities of the visit. In addition, visit the webpages of the  FiAM imaging core facilities.

ISIDORE - supporting infectious disease research

The ISIDORe is Horizon EU-funded project that provide FREE of charge access to imaging technologies and resources to support research on infectious diseases. The researchers can apply for FREE SERVICES at 19 Euro-BioImaging Nodes including Finnish Advanced Microscopy Node (FiAM):

  • Multimodal Advanced Light Microscopy
  • Super-Resolution Microscopy
  • Electron Microscopy and CLEM
  • Mesoscopic Imaging
  • High Throughput Microscopy/High Content Screening
  • Image Analysis

As of September 2024, the ISIDORe TNA calls for user projects are CLOSED!
